BI tools are consumption layers. Tableau and Power BI are visual-first and definitions often live in each workbook or model; Looker is semantic-first: LookML defines measures once and every dashboard reads them. Qlik has an associative engine; Metabase and Redash are lightweight, SQL-first. Ask of any of them: where is revenue defined?
